How To Begin

A private 7-day audio companion for The Daily Mindset Journal

Thank you for ordering The Daily Mindset Journal.

As part of Early Access, you also receive How To Begin, a private 7-day audio companion from me.

This page gives you the first seven Daily Mindset reflections, the matching journal prompts, and the short audio for each day. You can begin here while you wait for your physical journal to arrive.

Take the first seven entries slowly, one day at a time.

You do not need to do this perfectly.

You do not need to write something deep every day.

You do not need to turn this into another routine you judge yourself for failing at.

You are not here to impress the page.
You are here to meet yourself in it.

Welcome — Before You Begin

Before you start, listen to this short welcome audio.

Day One

What feels right for you right now?

Daily Mindset

Take a breath. Let go of the need to plan your entire year out in the perfect way. You have no idea what's coming and that's okay. Focus on what feels right for you right now. You are allowed to make changes later on. Some things you can control, others you cannot. Trust the process, that everything will fall into place as and when it's meant to. Be present and enjoy the ride.

Journal Prompt

What feels right for you right now and are you pursuing that?

Day Two

What are you trying to outrun?

Daily Mindset

The mind creates an obsession with the future as an escape from the unsatisfactory present. Rather than question what is it about the future you're so fixated on, ask what it is about the present that you're so unhappy with.

Journal Prompt

If you paused chasing the future, what would you have to confront right now?

Listen to Day Two
Day Three

Let the anger out here.

Daily Mindset

Resentment is the poison you swallow hoping the other person will die. — Emmet Fox

Journal Prompt

Think of someone you resent. Let the anger out here. Then write about how you're going to move towards letting it go.

Day Four

Trade one hour for something real.

Daily Mindset

Less screen time, more forehead kisses, cuddling and dancing under the moon.

Journal Prompt

If you had to trade an hour of screen time today for something real and present, what would you choose and who would you share it with? Now go do it.

Listen to Day Four
Day Five

What are you ready to put down?

Daily Mindset

Never be a prisoner of your past. It was just a lesson not a life sentence.

Journal Prompt

What lesson from your past are you ready to carry forward, and what weight from it are you ready to finally put down?

Listen to Day Five
Day Six

One small step.

Daily Mindset

Go for it. Go for whatever contributes positively to you feeling passionate, happy and alive. The minute you begin to wonder what it might be like, that is the moment you need to go for it.

Journal Prompt

What have you been hesitating to go for lately? Write it down then list one small step you can take today to move toward it.

Listen to Day Six
Day Seven

Whose agreement have you been waiting for?

Daily Mindset

Stop trying to get everyone to agree. When you need everyone to agree, the least agreeable person has all the power. — James Clear

Journal Prompt

How would your choices change if you no longer needed everyone's agreement?
